TB continues to be a global health threat. New, safer and more potent drugs are clinically required to treat drug-resistant strains. Research on compounds with novel mechanism of action is considered a good strategy for developing drugs against these resistant strains. Biodiversity is a huge arsenal of chemical entities which can be exploited for novel therapeutics.
