I am currently a Medical Officer working at National Institute of Allergy and Infectious diseases overseeing safety issues of international HIV/TB clinical trials that are funded/sponsored by US government. I started treating TB patients from the moment I became a physician. Subsequently I have worked as a physician and later on a senior physician in China for 13 years. I am very interested in TB drug development and global stop TB programs. Recently I re-visited my previous hospital in China and the fact was striking: everything has changed and advanced in the city but my TB hospital remains the same! Old facilities, old in-patient department, and the old treatment strategies! I have determined to make a difference to the patients suffering from TB. Due to my recent training and experience combining my responsibilities at my job, I am especially interested in drug development and clinical trials to find the better and cheaper treatment to TB patients.
