The primary objective of my research group is a shorter and more effective treatment of drug-resistant and latent forms of tuberculosis. My group is currently isolating alternative inhibitors of Mycobacterium tuberculosis growth and persistence, and their cognate cellular targets. I wish to join the Working Group on New Drugs to facilitate closer interaction with tuberculosis researchers who share the common goals of discovering and developing new anti-tubercular drugs to increase treatment success rates. I would be available to participate in working group meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
