Dear Professor Greetings from India. I am very glad to introduce myself, Mr. Parameshwar Makam. I submitted Ph. D thesis titled “2-Aminothiazole Derivatives as Antituberculosis and Antimalarial Agents: Design, Synthesis, in silico and in vitro Studies” on 7th May, 2014 under the supervision of Dr. K. Tharanikkarasu, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Pondicherry University. I have two research articles and two patents to my credit and presently I have communicated one more paper to European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and is under review. Manuscripts preparations for the rest of the thesis work are under progress. Research has also been presented in several international and national conferences and won best oral presentation awards and best poster awards. Prior to Ph.D. and during M.Sc., I worked in globally reputed pharmaceutical companies, Matrix Laboratories Ltd., (presently Mylan Inc. USA) and Dr. Reddy's Research Foundation (Discovery Research), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. During this period I worked on the research projects with total synthesis and polymorph studies of APIs and NCEs such as: Paroxetine Hydrochloride, Darifenacin Hydro bromide, S-(+)-Pregabalin, Dexlansoprazole and 4-biaryl-1-phenyl-azetidine-2-one derivatives as cholesterol absorption inhibitors. With my interest and background in the field of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry, as well as my dedication for leaving an impact on research and development, I have developed the skills that will be needed for Post-Doctoral program. Additionally, I have good teaching experience at Pondicherry University as a teaching and lab assistant to several chemistry graduates and undergraduates of organic chemistry and analytical chemistry. Beyond the laboratory adeptness, I was also trained in grant writing. Apart from these, I believe that I have also gained some of the key traits that a researcher must possess: self-motivation, positive attitude, perseverance and teamwork. Now, I am well versed to apply my scientific knowledge and information to address scientific questions independently or with a team. I believed that your lab would be a great place to explore my research ideas. Hence, I would be very much pleased to do my Post-Doctoral studies in your prestigious institution under your supervision.
